Cahuita National Park

Costa Rica is known for its bio-diversity, ecotourism and national parks.

Cahuita National Park in the Limón Province has to be one of the most amazing parks in the country. It was created in 1970 as a National Monument to preserve the coral reefs off the Caribbean coast. Later, the area was reformed as a national park.

Currently, it relies on donations and does not charge an admission fee.

Sloth Sanctuary

The Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica is the original rescue center for injured, orphaned and abandoned sloths.

Founders Judy Avey-Arroyo and Luis Arroyo purchased the property to offer birding tours on the Estrella River. Originally known as Aviarios del Caribe, this 320-acre lush tropical lowland rainforest was formerly inhabited by banana plantations.

The government of Costa Rica officially declared the property a privately-owned biological reserve in 1975.

Bri Bri Indigenous Village & Chocolate Tour

The Bri Bri Village Tour will transport you to a place where time has barely altered ancient traditions.

This captivating experience includes visiting two indigenous families living in separate villages within two different reserves. Each family will delight in showing you their way of life and sharing their customs with you. The first family will surprise you with their passion for iguanas.

The second will take you on a tour of a self sustaining farm where you will have the added benefit of learning all about chocolate cultivation.
